Chicken Curry

A chicken curry is a part of an Indian meal and in some parts of India; people just cannot do without it. This is an easy but fine chicken curry recipe that can be tried without any hassle.


  • Chicken 1 lb
  • Oil 2 table spoons
  • 3 medium onions grated
  • 1 large tomato finely chopped
  • Yogurt 1 tablespoon
  • 6 pods crushed garlic
  • Ginger 1 medium size piece grated
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoon paprika powder
  • ¼ tsp cumin seed powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 3 green cardamom
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Salt to taste
  • Powdered green cardamom, cloves and cinnamon


In pan heat oil and add cardamom, cloves and cinnamon stick. After ½ minute add onions and sauté till golden brown. Add chicken cleaned and washed. Sauté for about five minutes and cover the lid. Let it cook on low heat till the chicken is tender. Sauté till chicken is brown and add powder spices yogurt and tomatoes. Sauté till oil separates. Add a cup full of water and let it cook on low heat for 20 minutes. Your chicken curry is ready to eat. Serve with rice or Indian bread.
